For the next few weeks, I will be on vacation in Southern France. I will be spending one week with my mom in Arles, France, and one week with Kelly in Nice, France. My focus of the trip is to create lasting memories with my two favorite women, and to take a break from "the grind" so I come back more focused and energized. Looking forward to sharing some pictures when I get back! Quote of the Week: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do." - Attributed to Mark Twain Article of the Week: https://medium.com/mind-cafe/bill-gates-think-week-practice-can-help-boost-your-creativity-and-focus-your-mind-43b8a881e303 Have you heard of Bill Gate's infamous "think week?" Bill Gates takes a "think week" twice a year, spending seven days in solitude to read and think. These "think weeks" have led to significant innovations at Microsoft. While we all might not have the capacity or desire to sit down for 18 hours a day and read paper after paper, there is still value in taking time away from the "hustle." This article highlights some of the benefits, such as:

  • Ability to think ahead, instead of always keeping up

  • Enjoying time disconnected from social media

  • Reflecting on lessons learned

  • Taking a break

Content of the Week: Conquering Pre-Vacation Jitters As I started preparing for vacation I found myself becoming really anxious. I was so anxious that it was hurting my productivity. So what I did was make a list of non-negotiable tasks and it made me realize two things: I don’t have as much to do as I thought, and with proper planning, I have enough time.

Big Question(s) of the Week: Have you blocked time to reflect/disconnect? If not, pull out your calendar today and schedule some time! Anturas Community Accomplishment: One of our community members has officially broken free from a career they have disliked for the last two years! Congratulations on accepting your new job offer. Onwards and upwards!
