Sometimes The Old You Must Die

Quote of the Week: “Anytime someone wants you to remain as you are, they do so for their own self-preservation” - Dr. Benjamin Hardy Tanner's Thought of the Week: The old you must die for the new you to be born. Life is a journey and if you want to continue to grow on that journey, and give more and more to the world, you'll need to go through "rebirths." Which means there will be times in your life where you will have to stay goodbye to your old self, and welcome your new self. By becoming this new version of yourself, you'll not only strengthen your inner voice, but also, be able to give more to the world.

The reason many of us get caught in the rat race and never have these "rebirths" is because they are hard, both internally and externally. Internally, it takes work, self-reflection, and discipline. Externally, you'll receive pushback. Many of your friends and family will think of you as that past version of yourself, and want you to remain the same. Which unfortunately leads to shedding of old relationships and old lifestyles, but on the other side of the shedding, your "rebirth" will open you up to new relationships, more ways to give, and deeper inner peace.
Life is a journey, and if you're committed to continuous improvement, "rebirths" are a vital part of the process.
Big Questions of the Week: Think back to the last time one of your friends had a "rebirth." Were you happy for them? If not, why? What assumptions or reactions are preventing you from being happy for them? Book of the Week: "10x is Easier than 2x" by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan If you are interested in this concept of "10xing your life," I highly recommend you read this book. While my thoughts of the week on "rebirth" were more abstract, Dr. Benjamin Hardy gets specific on how to 10x any aspect of your life, by shedding 80% of your past efforts and narrowing in on 20% for your future.

Photo of the Week: While we are on the east coast, Kel and I are trying to take advantage of all the things we miss, like plays! This week we had a lovely date night and went to see the Lion King at Proctor's. Till next week, be kind, be curious and work hard. Tanner
